Unusual Striking Automaton Desk Clock

An unusual 20^th Century Swiss eight day striking desk clock with automated figures. Nickelled circular keywind movement with two large going barrels. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Hour and half hour striking on a steel gong. White enamel ring dial with Arabic numerals on a silver engine turned plate, elaborate blue steel hands. In the centre chased and engraved automaton figures either side and below a cupid all appear to strike bells as the clock chimes. Substantial large square silvered case with a cast hinged easel stand. Circular housing with small glazed aperture to reveal the balance.

Silver Watch Chain and Unusual Actor’s Fob

An early 20^th Century silver chain and fob depicting the patron saint of actors. The chain of large hollow oval links engraved around the edge. "T" bar close to one end of the chain and spring clip on the other. Short length of the chain to an unusual pierced cast silver fob depicting Saint Genesius. The Saint is holding a mask which swivels. On one side the mask bears a frown, on the other a smile. Around the scene "Saint Genesius – Guide my Destiny". Marked "Weston – Sterling" on the reverse.

An early 20^th Century Swiss eight day lever in a decorative damascened gunmetal open face case. Hebdomas type keyless eight day movement with the large resting barrel covering the back of the watch marked “8 Days” in a number of languages. Engraved bridge cock to below the dial, polished steel regulator. Uncut bimetallic balance with overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Signed white enamel dial, gilt Roman numerals in dark blue enamel cartouches, gilt decoration either side of the chapter ring, pierced gilt hands. Gunmetal open face case damascened in silver and gilt floral decoration.

Silver Hunting Cased Erotic Automaton

A large early 20^th Century Swiss lever with concealed erotic automaton in a decorative silver full hunter case. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Arabic numerals, blue steel hands. Silver full hunter case, both covers decorated in high relief, the front depicting a bust. The back with floral decoration marked “H Frsl Depose”. Opening the back and silver cuvette reveals a nun, apparently kneeling at prayer, receiving the attentions of a member of the clergy from behind. The scene springs to life when the silver slide in the band is activated.

Substantial plain 18 carat half hunter case with blue enamel chapter ring, gold cuvette with engraved dedication. Maker’s mark “DB” in a rectangle and “Dent” in a triangle. Number corresponding to that on the movement. Dark blue presentation case lined with blue velvet, signed “Dent – 28 Cockspur Street”.
