Engraved cock with polished steel regulator, gold sector index on the plate. Compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Signed white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands Attractive substantial 14 carat full hunter case with box hinges. The front cover engine turned, engraved and decorated with applied three colour gold work, a large vacant shield shaped cartouche to the centre. The back cover also engine turned, engraved and decorated with applied three colour gold work depicting a stag. Plain gold cuvette, maker’s mark “B.W.C.Co.”.

An unusual early 20th Century Desk set comprising a large Swiss lever watch, matching barometer in a silver faced stand with a thermometer. Keyless gilt bar movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator. Uncut bimetallic balance with spiral hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Substantial plain open face nickle case. The English aneroid barometer in a matching nickle case, the rotating bezel with a blue steel pointer to record the setting. White enamel dial marked in inches of mercury and the type of weather expected. Both fitted in a black morocco covered case with easel stand and lined in green velvet. Plain silver mask to the front with a central blue spirit thermometer marked in Fahrenheit.

An early 20th Century desk set comprising a goliath watch and matching barometer fitted in a stand with thermometer. The watch with a large keyless gilt bar movement, going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, uncut bimetallic balance with spiral hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Substantial plain nickelled open face case. The barometer in a similarly sized nickle case housing an aneroid mechanism. White enamel marked in inches of mercury and weather. Small pointer in the rotating bezel to record the current reading. Morocco covered case lined with green velvet to house the watch and barometer, easel stand. The front covered with a silver face hallmarked in Birmingham, a small mercury thermometer at its centre.

Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. English table roller lever escapement . White enamel dial with centre seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel seconds hand, gilt hands. Plain 18 carat open face case made in one piece, the movement hinging out. Small gold slide in the band to stop the watch acting on the balance, maker's mark “BB” in a rectangle and number corresponding to that on the movement.

Engraved cock with diamond endstone, plain three arm steel balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, gilt hands. engine turned silver open face case with ribbed middle. Hallmarked London 1825, maker's mark “IC” in a rectangle. Large square glass inkwell with canted corners, concave base decorated with a cut star reflecting the colour of the ink. Circular hinged silver top fitted with the watch secured by a bayonet fit silver bezel.

Two Day Marine Chronometer by Kullberg
A 20th Century English two day marine chronometer by Kullberg. Full plate spotted keywind reverse fusee movement marked with the broad ministry arrow above “I”, four turned pillars secured by blue steel screws. Harrison’s maintaining power with steel click and blue steel spring. Polished steel barrel ratchet wheel and double toothed click on the spotted barrel bridge. Spotted cock with diamond endstone in a polished steel setting. Two arm compensation balance with two circular weights, Kullberg’s later form of middle-error temperature compensation, large timing screws and nuts, freesprung palladium helical hairspring. Earnshaw spring detent escapement, escape pivots with endstones. The movement secured to the gilt dial plate by three blue steel screws. Engraved signed and numbered silvered brass dial with broad ministry arrow, “I” and date, subsidiaries for seconds and power reserve indication, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Numbered turned brass bowl, rotating shutter to the winding hole, screw brass bezel with flat glass. Brass gimbals and locking mechanism, brass ratchet key. Three tier mahogany box, hinged flush brass handles, later top lid. Rectangular plaque engraved with the maker’s name, number, date, broad ministry arrow and “Two Days”. Included is a photocopy of a letter to the Director General of Stores at the India Office signed by the Astronomer Royal recommending the purchase of this chronometer.

Silvered open face case, chased bezel and middle, the cast back depicting a Moses reading from the Ten Commandments.
