Description

A fine early 19th Century French skeletonised quarter repeating verge in a gold open face case. Full plate gilt fusee movement, both plates pierced and engraved revealing the trains. Engraved barrel and barrel cover. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with polished steel endstone, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator, blue and polished steel barrel ratchet. Push pendant quarter repeating on two steel gongs.  Polished steel repeating work visible through the centre of the signed white enamel ring dial. Arabic numerals, fine blue steel hands. Substantial 18 carat open face case with engine turned middle, the back with engine turning radiating from an oval cartouche near the lower edge.  Signed sprung glazed cuvette, the makers name also engraved on the movement.
