A fine late 18th Century English gold and enamel watch and matching chatelaine in fitted case.

Description

A fine late 18th Century English gold and enamel watch and matching chatelaine in fitted case.  Full plate fire gilt verge movement with fusee and chain.  Pierced and engraved cock with large diamond endstone, silver regulator disc.  Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring.  Winding through the fully restored white enamel dial, Arabic numerals, blue steel hands.  Gold consular case the white enamel bezels with gilt star decoration.  Gold back covered in dark translucent blue enamel decorated with a repeating pattern of green and gilt enamel.  Gold pendant and bow, the sprung bezel opened by pushing a button in the top.  Matching gold and enamel chatelaine, gold clip, its rectangular canted corner gold and enamel plate supporting five gold chains.  The middle three for two small matching gold and enamel plates terminating in a gold clip for the watch secured by a threaded collar.  On the outer chains a matching gold and enamel key and scent bottle.  In original fitted green morocco case lined in beige velvet.
