An early 20th Century Swiss minute repeating lever in a large gold wristwatch. Nickelled split three quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, uncut bimetallic balance with spiral hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Push button minute repeating on two polished steel gongs, small rotating visible regulator. Signed white enamel dial marked “Minutes”, subsidiary seconds, Arabic numerals, blue steel hands. Large plain gold wristwatch case with glazed back revealing the movement. Rectangular gold lugs attached to short oval pendants both with winding crowns. The crown at six o’clock fixed, present only for visual balance. Gilt push button at three o’clock to actuate the minute repeat. Black grained leather strap.

White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Substantial plain 18 carat full hunter case, recessed gold slide, gold bow and double flysprings to the front cover. Maker’s mark “PW” in an oval. Recent blue morocco covered presentation case.

Triangular mother of pearl dial with polychrome Masonic symbols in place of the numerals and “Love your fellow man – Lend him a helping hand” below the centre. Pierced blue steel hands in the form of Masonic symbols. Silver triangular case with decoration of a chain around the clip on bezel, blue cabochon set winding crown, triangular bow. Clip on back chased and engraved with a temple and many other Masonic symbols. Inside the back marked “USA patent 66542” and the maker’s mark “GA”.

Plain cock with polished steel micrometer regulator. Club foot lever escapement, escape pivots with endstones. Heavy compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Signed and numbered white enamel dial, centre seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Silver open face case, glassless bezel, plain screw back with serrated edge, Nardin’s makers mark. Mahogany deck box, circular disc on the lid engraved with the Ministry arrow and “C^W Nardin” and the serial number of the watch. Brass bowl with glazed screw bezel. Inside the top lid a paper slip from F Smith & Son, Southampton indicating the watch was cleaned in May 1972.

Rare Zenith Deck Watch with Decimal Dial
A mid 20th Century Swiss centre seconds lever deck watch with rare decimal dial in a stainless steel case. Gilt three quarter plate keyless going barrel movement with centre seconds transfer work above. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Unusual white centre seconds dial. The longest blue steel hand rotates once a minute indicating on the outer ring marked in bold black Arabic numerals 1 – 10, the chapter divided into one hundred divisions. Within this the minutes marked in red to 60 and a smaller chapter for the hours marked to twelve in black. Blue steel hands for the seconds and hours, a red hand for the minutes. Plain stainless steel open face case with screw back and bezel, marked “Staybrite – Swiss Made” and the Zenith logo below. The back marked with the broad Ministry arrow, stores and serial numbers. “H.S.3” has been struck through with two lines.

Signed silvered dial with subsidiaries for power reserve and seconds, Arabic numerals, blue steel hands. Keystone base metal open face case, clip on cuvette, screw bezel and back marked “Bureau of Ships – US Navy – N1535-1941 – Chronometer Watch”. Two piece mahogany deck box lined with green baize, glazed circular aperture to reveal the dial. Plate detailing instructions on how to use the watch and set the hands. Baize lined mahogany keep box secured by a latch and leather strap, side wings to the base to allow it to be secured by two screws.

Brass gimbals and locking mechanism, brass ratchet key bearing the serial number. Three tier mahogany box, inside the middle tier a rectangular plate detailing instructions on how to use the watch and set the hands. The weighted brass screw base engraved “MTD Watch – Bureau of Ship – US Navy – N5709-1942”. The serial number repeated on the bowl and bezel.
