Harrison’s maintaining power, blue steel barrel ratchet wheel and double toothed click on the barrel bridge. Six spoke train wheels. Plain cock, diamond endstone in a blue steel setting, two arm compensation balance with two wedge shaped weights and four timing nuts. Freesprung blue steel helical hairspring. Earnshaw spring detent escapement, escape pivots with endstones. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel seconds hand, gold hands. Substantial plain silver open face case, maker’s mark “TH”.

Dent Marine Chronometer with Airy’s Bar
A mid 19th Century English two day marine chronometer by Dent with Airy’s bar in a mahogany box. Full plate brass keywind fusee movement, four turned pillars secured by blue steel screws, engraved broad Ministry arrow. Harrison’s maintaining power with blue steel click and spring, blue steel barrel ratchet wheel and double toothed click on the barrel bridge. Plain brass cock, diamond endstone, two arm compensation balance with two circular weights and two timing nuts, Airy’s bar with two smaller circular weights resting against the rim. Freesprung palladium helical hairspring. Earnshaw spring detent escapement, escape pivots with endstones. The movement secured to the gilt dial plate by three blue steel screws. Engraved signed and numbered silvered brass dial with subsidiaries for seconds and power reserve indication. Broad Ministry arrow in the seconds subsidiary, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Signed and numbered turned brass bowl, sprung hinged dust cover to the winding aperture. Screw brass bezel with flat glass. Brass gimbals and locking mechanism, numbered brass ratchet key. Two tier mahogany box, the top lid having been removed in common with most Ministry marine chronometers. Signed and numbered circular plaque with the broad Ministry arrow, folding brass handles.

Gold dial, matted centre with engraved floral decoration, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Small engraved 18 carat open face case. Button in the pendant to open the sprung back, polychrome enamel decoration of a floral bouquet on a light blue ground, scalloped border. Wound and set through the gold cuvette.

Escape pivots with endstones in a polished steel setting. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Small 18 carat gold and enamel half hunter case. The chapter ring on the front cover in light pink translucent enamel over an engine turned ground, dark blue Roman numerals. Around the chapter a border of blue forget-me-nots. The back cover similarly decorated, centred with a polychrome bouquet of flowers. Signed and numbered gold cuvette, maker’s mark “PP & Co” in a rectangle.

A fine late 19th Century English freesprung centre seconds keyless reverse fusee with power reserve indication by Kullberg in a gold open face case. Gilt three quarter plate centre seconds keyless movement with reverse fusee and chain. Harrison’s maintaining power. Unusual plain skeletonised bridge cock with diamond endstone in a blue steel setting. Compensation balance with freesprung blue steel overcoil hairspring. English double roller lever escapement, screwed in jewelling, escape and lever pivots with endstones set in a circular bridge. The centre seconds pinion also with an endstone. Signed and numbered white enamel dial with centre seconds, sector below twelve for 30 hour power reserve indication. Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Substantial plain 18 carat open face case, maker’s mark “JM” in an oval. Small gold hand set button under the back cover. Plain gold cuvette with apertures for winding and set by key if desired. Accompanied by a small morocco covered case with 9 carat gold repousse mask hallmarked Birmingham 1901. Easel stand for use as a desk clock.

Swiss Patent 24 Hour Dial Silver Watch
A late 19th Century Swiss cylinder with unusual 24 hour dial in a silver engine turned open face case. Gilt three quarter plate keywind movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel. Unusual dial, silvered mask marked “Patent”, with eleven circular apertures and small seconds subsidiary at six o’clock, blue steel hands. The apertures in the mask either show black Roman numerals from one to twelve or red Arabic numerals thirteen to twenty four on a white enamel ring. Horn Singing Bird Box
A late 19th Century French automated singing bird in a polished horn box. Brass going barrel movement keywound through the base. Small bellows and piston mechanism provides air to a variable whistle to mimic birdsong operated by a system of cams and levers. The bird covered with multi-coloured feathered plumage, iridescent highlights to bib and wings. Moving the gilt lateral slide on the front of the box causes the oval lid to open and the bird to hinge into an upright position, rising through chased and pierced gilt grille. While playing the automated bird moves its bone beak, flaps its wings and moves from side-to-side, synchronised to the continuous birdsong. Polished horn box, a compartment at the back with a hinged horn lid. Oval gilt hinged cover to the bird engraved with a bird in a foliate engraved border.

White enamel dial with centre seconds, Roman numerals, Arabic numerals for the chronograph, blue steel seconds hand, gilt hands. Plain silver open face case, silver cuvette, gilt crown. A button at 3 o’clock stops the second hand allowing the watch to continue running. The button at two o’clock returns the second hand to twelve. Recent red morocco covered case lined with red velvet.

A fine late 19th Century Swiss lever gold and enamelled ball watch set with split pearls and diamonds with matching brooch. Unusual keyless gilt movement constructed with the train wheels above the going barrel. Plain sector cock with polished steel regulator. Compensation balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Club foot right angle lever escapement. Small white enamel dial with blue Arabic numerals, the 12 o’clock marking in red, gilt minute markings and hands. The case is constructed in three parts, the gold middle with a row of split pearls. The two gold hemispheres of translucent red enamel set with small diamonds in a trefoil clover pattern. The watch is wound and set by turning the top hemisphere of the case in relation to the lower hemisphere. Matching diamond and pearl set gold and enamel brooch. In a cream velvet lined presentation box covered in red morocco.
