Substantial plain silver open face case with gold hinges, maker's mark “LT” and number corresponding to that on the movement. Fitted in a three tier mahogany deck box with brass furniture. Signed and numbered circular plaque set in the lid bearing the broad ministry arrow. Spare glass and label from the Royal observatory, Greenwich dated 1892.
