Description

A very large late 19th Century Swiss lever chronograph in a nickle open face case.  Gilt three quarter plate keyless movement marked “The Ascot – Patent 20th June 1887”. Going barrel, grained steel chronograph work above the plate. Plain cock with gilt regulator, uncut bimetallic balance with overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement.  Large signed white enamel dial with flyback centre seconds chronograph, 30 minute recording subsidiary.  Small chapter of Roman numerals in the centre.  Outside this four concentric circles of red Arabic numerals marked from 12 to 60 and at the edge the black markings for the centre seconds chronograph, blue steel hands. Substantial large open face nickle case.
