Description

An early 19th Century Swiss verge in a pearl set gold and enamel case with matching chatelaine.  Full plate gilt fusee movement.  Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with polished steel endstone, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring.  Silver regulator dial with gilt indicator.   Winding through the gold engine turned dial, white enamel minute ring and cartouches of Arabic numerals, blue steel hands.  Gold open face case with gold pendant and bow, ribbed middle, pearl set bezels.  The back decorated with a pearl set floral display in translucent blue enamel over an engine turned ground.  Gold and enamel chatelaine. Hinged gilt clip to the buckle, polychrome scene of cherubs on a blue background.  Suspended from the buckle are three broad chains and four fine pierced chains, all decorated with translucent blue enamel oval and diamond shaped cartouches.  Central rectangular shield with blue translucent enamel and a polychrome cherub within a pearl set border.  Three further broad chains are suspended from the shield, the watch hanging from the central one.  Attached to the broad chains at the outside of the buckle are a gold key and agate seal, both mounted on swivels and decorated with blue and white enamel.
