A late 18th Century English verge in a fine diamond and pearl set gold and enamel consular case with matching chatelaine.

Description

A late 18th Century English verge in a fine diamond and pearl set gold and enamel consular case with matching chatelaine.  Full plate fire gilt movement with pierced and engraved cock, silver regulator disc.  Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring.  Winding through the gold engine turned dial with Roman numerals, blue steel hands.  Fine gold consular case decorated with translucent dark purple enamel over an engine turned ground .  The bezels set with a row of split pearls and in the centre of the back a very large single split pearl surrounded by small diamonds in a white metal setting.  Matching gold macaroni chatelaine with one circular and one oval section decorated in a similar fashion to the watch.  These are joined by three strings of pearls with the oval section supporting a matching key ans two pearl set gold and enamel tassels.
