Description

An early 19th Century French verge quarter repeating on three gongs in a decorative gold open face case.  Full plate gilt fusee movement.  Unusual pierced and engraved bridge cock, the table cutaway to reveal the balance, polished steel setting to the garnet endstone. Plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring.  Silver regulator dial with broad blued index surrounding it, blue steel indicator.  Push pendant quarter repeating on three steel gongs, pierced and engraved bridge to the repeating barrel with polished steel cover.  Winding through the white enamel dial, Arabic numerals, blue steel Breguet hands. Unusual decorative 18 carat open face case, scalloped chased and engraved middle.  The decorative back made of two sheets of gold.  Plain polished inner layer with makers mark “DLG”.  The outer chased engraved and matted in an attractive sunburst pattern.  Gold push pendant for the repeat with locking slide in the band.  Signed gilt cuvette.
