Description

A late 18th Century Swiss verge in gilt pair cases with a polychrome enamel portrait.  Small full plate fire gilt movement with pentagonal baluster pillars.  Pierced and engraved masked cock, garnet endstone,  pierced and engraved foot and plate for the silver regulator disc.  Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates.  Plain three arm gilt balance, blue steel spiral hairspring.  Signed white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, gilt hands.  Plain gilt inner case marked “Leton”.  Gilt outer case, the back set with an oval polychrome enamel portrait within a paste set white metal mask over a blue enamelled ground.
