Description

A late 18th Century French quarter repeating virgule in a silver gilt open face case.  Unusual gilt keywind movement with both the going and repeating trains under one engraved bridge.  Engraved suspended going barrel with steel stop work.   Engraved cock with polished steel regulator, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Rare virgule escapement, brass escape wheel.  Push pendant quarter repeating on two polished steel rectangular section gongs. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, gilt hands. Engine turned silver gilt open face case, wound and set through the gilt cuvette, erroneous 18K marks.
