An unusual large late 18th Century French verge in a silver and gold case.  Full plate gilt fusee movement.  Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring.  Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator.  Winding through the white enamel dial, Arabic numerals, blue steel Breguet hands. Unusual drum shaped plain silver open face case with gold bezels.  The top plate of the movement is almost as large a the dial plate and secures the movement by three dog screws.  The back has maker’s mark "?F" over "B", Paris standard Fish silver hallmark and the numbers 1691 and 1456.

An attractive watch in excellent condition.  Although idiosyncratic in design and bearing some similarities to his work we cannot connect this watch to Abraham Louis Breguet.
