Description

A very slim Swiss minute repeating lever by Paul Ditisheim in a platinum full hunter case.  Keyless nickelled bar movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Slide minute repeating on two polished steel gongs, the repeat train jewelled to the hammers.  Frosted platinum dial with subsidiary seconds, black Arabic numerals, blue steel hands.  Very slim plain full hunter platinum case, plain platinum cuvette.  Recessed platinum slide in the band, maker's mark “PD” in a rectangle.

A very rare high quality watch and surprisingly thin to contain a minute repeating movement.  Paul Ditisheim was one of the most eminent  Swiss watchmakers of the period.  He  developed a new oil with remarkable stability, designed and patented a compensation balance (Pat. 98234), and was known for his superior skills in adjusting which won many prizes and honors..
