An early 19th Century Swiss quarter repeating musical watch with cartouche dial in a gold open face case.  Gilt movement with two resting barrels, the larger barrel, being half the diameter of the movement, providing the power for the musical train.  Polished steel stopwork to both barrels.  Plain sector shaped cock, polished steel coqueret, polished steel regulator.  Plain gilt balance with spiral spring, polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel.  Polished steel work on back plate to control the disc type musical train and a steel “Strike – Silent” lever.  Push pendant quarter repeating on two steel gongs, the repeating work situated under the dial.  Lateral slide in the band to actuate the musical mechanism, music also playing automatically on the hour.  Signed gold dial with engine turned centre, enamel minute ring and cartouches of Arabic numerals, blue steel Breguet hands.  Plain gold open face case, engine turned middle.  Signed gilt cuvette with apertures for winding and hand set.
