A fine late 18th Century English half quarter repeating cylinder in gold pair cases. Full plate fire gilt movement with signed and numbered gilt dust cover pierced to reveal the diamond endstone and regulator. Pierced and engraved cock of unusual radial design, large diamond endstone on a blue steel setting. Silver regulator disc on an engraved gilt plate. Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, large brass escape wheel, pivots with endstones. Push pendant half quarter repeating on a bell in the case. White enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, fine gold arrow hands. Matching gold pair cases decoratively engraved and pierced to allow the bell to sound clearly. Gold push pendant and bow. Gold outer case with a navette shaped cartouche engraved with a small monogram and family crest. Sprung bezel opened by pressing a pin recessed in the edge, rare concealed hinge, maker's mark “IR”
