Description

A rare 19^th Century English minute repeating chronograph with regulator dial by Nicole Nielsen in a gold full hunter case.  Gilt three quarter plate keyless movement with steel Nicole patent winding work.  Centre seconds flyback chronograph and minute repeating work under the dial.  Engraved cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring.  English table roller lever escapement, escape and lever pivots with endstones.  Slide minute repeating on two polished steel gongs. Signed white enamel regulator dial, subsidiary for the hours at three o'clock in Roman numerals.  The minutes and centre seconds flyback chronograph are shown around the edge in Arabic numerals, blue steel hands.  Plain 18 carat full hunter case, clip on gold back, recessed gold slide and chronograph button in the band.  Maker's mark “AN” in a rectangle and number corresponding to that on the movement.  Red morocco presentation case lined in red velvet signed for “Henry Capt”.
