Description

An unusual late 18^th Century French eight day cylinder with calendar in a gold consular case.  Full plate gilt fusee movement, the back plain with the exception of the signed raised centre.  Polished steel cylinder, small brass escape wheel, the balance situated  under the dial.  Round pillars with vacant threaded holes.  Wound through the restored signed white enamel dial of unusual design.  The upper half of the dial marked in Arabic numerals from seven through twelve to six repeated in the lower half in Roman numerals.  The minutes also marked twice and the hand rotating once every two hours.  Subsidiaries for the date and regulation of the watch, blue steel hands.  Plain 18 carat gold consular case.
