A rare early 20th Century American art deco watch combined with a cigar cutter. Circular nickelled three quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Oval white metal dial with Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Gold rectangular case with canted corners inlaid with stripes of platinum. Small aperture in one corner of the back, the cutter operated by a slide in the edge. Unusual latch to release the button for setting the hands. The inside of the back marked “14K & Plat – Pat. Apr. 16. 12”.
