Description

A rare combination of watch and folding lorgnettes in a diamond set gold and enamel case.  Rectangular keywind gilt bar movement with suspended going barrel.  Plain cock with polished steel regulator.  Plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring.  Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel.  Circular white enamel dial with Roman numerals, blue steel hands.   Gold case decorated with fully restored translucent blue enamel over an engine turned ground.  The front cover with foliate decoration set with a central large diamond and small diamonds around it.  Moving a small latch in the waisted section of the body releases the spectacles which spring out and unfold themselves at the bridge.  Russian “56” mark.
