Description

A late 18th Century French verge in an unusual gold and enamel consular case.  Full plate gilt fusee movement.  Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring.  Silver regulator dial with gilt indicator.  Winding through the signed white enamel dial, Arabic numerals, gold beetle and poker hands.  Unusual gold consular case, plain light blue enamel on the bezels and a wide border on the back centred with a small circular scene depicting a cherub above a lamb and a dog.  Circular red morocco covered case with two brass latches.
