Description

An early 19th Century French verge in a pearl set gold and enamel case with matching chatelaine.  Small full plate gilt fusee movement.  Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring.  Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator.  Wound through the gold engine turned dial, white enamel chapter of Arabic numerals, blue steel Breguet hands.   Gold open case, pearls set bezels, the sprung front bezel opened by depressing a button in the pendant.  Gold back of translucent dark blue enamel over an engine turned ground, a monogram in a small circle visible in bright light.  Matching chatelaine, the gold and translucent dark blue enamel buckle supporting an enamelled link by five gold chains.  Three pairs of gold chains hang from this, each with a hinged gold clip secured by a threaded collar.  On one side of the watch a small gold Breguet ratchet key and on the other a gold heart, crucifix and anchor.
