Description

A late 18th Century English verge in a fine diamond and pearl set gold and enamel consular case with matching chatelaine and fitted case.  Full plate fire gilt movement, pierced and engraved cock with garnet endstone, silver regulator disc.  Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring.  Winding through the gold engraved and engine turned dial with Roman numerals, gilt hands.  Fine gold consular case decorated with translucent dark blue enamel over an engine turned ground .  The bezels set with a row of large split pearls.  In the centre of the back a large single diamond surrounded by geometric spray of small diamonds in a white metal setting.  Matching gold chatelaine, the rectangular pin set with two quatrafoils of pearls and bordered with further split pearls. Hinged gold pin and unusual small watch type bow and pendant above.  Three string of pearls hang from the pin, each with diamond set gold and enamel links.  Two support the watch, the other a jump ring with a key , a matching seal and flask.  The agate oval seal with an intaglio bust, gold and enamel gallery above.  Unusual pearl set gold and enamel gourd shaped flask with hinged lid.  All set in a fitted case of gilt tooled morocco, lined in beige velvet.
