Description

A fine late 18th Century French centre seconds cylinder in a gold and enamel open face case.  Unusual slim full plate gilt movement, the spring for the resting barrel under an engraved bridge.  Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring.  Polished steel regulator under a polished steel bridge.  Polished steel cylinder.  Wound through the convex white enamel centre seconds dial, Arabic numerals, fine gold beetle and poker hands, serpentine centre seconds hand.  Gold and enamel case, the bezels engraved at the edge and with two bands of pale blue and white enamel.  Fine polychrome enamel scene of a classically dressed young woman in a formal garden, an architect working at her feet.  Pale translucent pink enamel over an engine turned ground.  Rectangular gold and enamel pendant and octagonal gold bow.
