Description
An early 19th Century French verge in a gilt metal and silver open face case set with an erotic enamel scene. Full plate gilt fusee movement. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with gilt indicator. Wound through the signed white enamel dial, Arabic numerals, gilt hands. Gilt metal open face case, engraved middle and engraved silver bezels. The back decorated with a fully restored polychrome enamel scene depicting a couple on a green background. The glazed hinged back cover partially masks the scene which when opened reveals the couple to be engaged in a more explicit manner.
