A mid 18th Century English verge in a fine gold repousse case with protective gilt third outer case.  Full plate fire gilt movement with square baluster pillars.  Lace edged pierced and engraved masked cock, pierced and engraved foot. Plate for the silver regulator disc also with lace edge.  Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring.  White enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, arcaded minute ring, decorative gilt hands. Plain 22 carat inner case, gold pendant and bow, maker’s mark “IH”.  Fine chased and engraved 22 carat gold repousse case depicting a scene of Minerva shielding a sleeping youth from the arrows of Cupid.  Third gilt metal protective case covered on horn and decorated with gilt pique pins.
