A fine late 18th Century English verge in a diamond and pearl set gold and enamel case with protective glazed outer.

Description

A fine late 18th Century English verge in a diamond and pearl set gold and enamel case with protective glazed outer.  Full plate fire gilt verge movement with fusee and chain.  Pierced and engraved cock, the table pierced and engraved in a geometric pattern, diamond endstone in a polished steel setting.  Silver regulator disc, plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Winding through the white enamel dial, Arabic numerals, fine diamond set hands.  English gold consular case, the bezels of dark blue and white enamel set with a row of large split pearls.  The back decorated with translucent dark blue enamel over an engine turned ground and set with diamonds in swags around the edge, in the centre a large single diamond surrounded by smaller diamonds.  Gold oval pendant of dark blue and white enamel, a small button to open the bezel.  Glazed gilt metal protective  outer.
