Description

An early 20th Century Swiss lever made by Rolex in a gunmetal open face case.  Nickelled split three quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel.  Plain cock with polished steel regulator, uncut bimetallic balance with spiral hairspring.  Club foot lever escapement.  Signed white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, large Arabic numerals marked one to twelve and smaller blue Arabic numerals for thirteen to twenty four, blue steel hands.  Gunmetal open face case with gilt winding button and bow.

Hans Wilsdorf, who co-founded, Rolex created brand names for watches of lower quality than the premier products.  Marconi was named after the inventor and wireless telegraphy pioneer. Marconi Lever was registered on 24 January 1911
