Fine Gold Pearl Set Watch and Pendant
A mid 19th Century Swiss cylinder in a fine gold case encrusted with split pearls with matching pendant. Unusual gilt three quarter plate keywind movement with resting barrel. Sector shaped cock with polished steel regulator and coqueret set with a garnet endstone. Plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel. Fine engine turned gold dial, the Roman numerals and minute marking set with split pearls, gold hands. Very fine open face encrusted with split pearls, sprung front bezel opened by depressing a button in the pendant. The back entirely covered in split pearls in a pattern radiating in a cluster of pearls below the pendant. Set in a series of graduated rows from 0.7 mm to 3.5 mm at the edge. The space between the large split pearls filled with small pearls. Front bezel set with a single row of large split pears each surrounded by more split pearls. Gold pendant also encrusted with split pearls, pearl set gold bow. Matching gold pin and bar with heart shaped centre supporting a spring clip all set with graduated split pearls. Large gold oval key with engine turned centre. In fitted gilt tooled red morocco covered case marked “No. 5050” from the retailer Desoutter of Hanover Street, London.

Silver Pair Cased Oddfellows Dial Verge
A mid 19th Century English verge with polychrome enamel dial of the Oddfellows Society in silver pair cases. Full plate fusee movement with round pillars. Pierced and engraved round cock, polished steel regulator on top plate below the plain three arm steel balance. White enamel dial, polychrome enamel and gilt centre painted with two women and Oddfellows symbols, the all seeing eye above and below the motto “Amicita Amor et Veritas”. Around the scene “Independent Order of Odd Fellows Manchester Unity”. Roman numerals, gilt hands. Silver pair cases, plain silver inner with silver oval pendant and bow, maker's mark “JH” in an oval. Plain silver outer case with faded mark.

Polished and blue steel three arm balance, decorative gilt weights, spiral hairspring. Steel crab tooth duplex escape wheel allowing the hand to appear to beat seconds. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, centre seconds, blue steel hands. Plain silver open face case, silver oval pendant and bow, button to release the back cover which is marked in Chinese characters within a oval. Glazed engraved silver sprung cuvette with apertures for winding and hand set.

A mid 19th Century engraved Swiss lever in a decorative gold open face case. Richly engraved keywind bar movement, two colour gilding, engraved suspended going barrel. Engraved cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement, the lever with an unusual gold counterpoise with arrow heads. Escape and lever pivots with endstones in gold settings. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel Breguet hands. Fine slim engraved 18 carat open face case. The bezels engraved in a geometric pattern, the back with a scene of colonnades and house with a boat on a lake in the background. Unusual broad engine turned bands under both bezels. Wound and set through the richly engraved gold cuvette signed for the retailer. Engraved gold pendant and plain bow, faux English marks and maker’s mark “SB” in a shield.

Engraved cock with polished steel regulator, plain three arm gold balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. English table roller lever escapement. Decorative engine turned and engraved gold dial with subsidiary seconds, applied gold Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Substantial 18 carat full hunter case with ribbed middle. Both covers engraved and decorated with two rows of shamrocks in translucent green enamel. On the front cover the shield shaped cartouche engraved with a heraldic device. The back cover centered by a harp in blue and red and enamel. Maker’s mark "JD" and number corresponding to that on the movement.

A large late 19th Century lever in a rare reversible cabriolet gold hunter pair case. Keywind gilt bar movement with suspended going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator. compensation balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Club foot lever escapement, polished steel escape wheel. White enamel dial signed “BWCo”, subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, decorative gilt hands. Rare heavy 18 carat cabriolet case which can be used either as a full hunter or as an open face. The inner gold case with florally engraved back and plain middle. Wound and set through the signed gold cuvette, gold button in the pendant to open the back. This can be used on its own or placed in the three section gold outer case with either the dial or back visible. When the dial is shown the watch still appears to be a conventional open face watch with the engraved back depicting a Scottish hunting scene. Alternatively with the florally engraved back of the inner visible the watch becomes a full hunter, the button in the pendant serving to open the front cover.

Fine gold and enamel case in the form of a beetle, the diamond and pearl set translucent red enamel wings opened by depressing a button in the tail to reveal the dial. The head chased and engraved with champleve black enamel, the eyes represented by green stones. The underside of the beetle realistically portrayed with finely chased and engraved legs applied to the hinged cover. Wound and set through the gold oval cuvette. Oval gold loop for a chain.

Plain cock with polished steel regulator. Plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel. Small white enamel dial with blue Arabic numerals, the 12 o'clock marking in red, gilt minute markings and hands. The case is constructed in three parts, the gold middle with applied gold bead decoration. The two gold hemispheres with applied gold wire decoration. Gold hand set button and ring pendant. The watch is wound and set by turning the top hemisphere of the case in relation to the lower hemisphere. Black fabric cord with gilt fastener.
