A mid 20th Century Swiss centre seconds lever deck watch by Ulysse Nardin in a mahogany deck box. Keyless gilt bar movement with going barrel, the centre seconds transfer wheel above. Plain cock with polished steel micrometer regulator. Club foot lever escapement, escape pivots with endstones. Heavy compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Signed and numbered white enamel dial, centre seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Silver open face case, glassless bezel, plain screw back with serrated edge, Nardin’s makers mark. Mahogany deck box, circular disc on the lid engraved with the Ministry arrow and “C^W Nardin” and the serial number of the watch. Brass bowl with glazed screw bezel. Inside the top lid a paper slip from F Smith & Son, Southampton indicating the watch was cleaned in May 1972.

Large Hamilton Two Day Deck Watch
A mid 20th Century American 56 hour lever Model 22 deck watch with power reserve indication in a mahogany deck box. Damascened nickelled split three quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel micrometer regulator, uncut balance employing quarter timing nuts, overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Signed silvered dial with subsidiaries for power reserve and seconds, Arabic numerals, blue steel hands. Keystone base metal open face case, clip on cuvette, screw bezel and back marked “Bureau of Ships – US Navy – N1535-1941 – Chronometer Watch”. Two piece mahogany deck box lined with green baize, glazed circular aperture to reveal the dial. Plate detailing instructions on how to use the watch and set the hands. Baize lined mahogany keep box secured by a latch and leather strap, side wings to the base to allow it to be secured by two screws.

Signed silvered dial with subsidiaries for power reserve and seconds, Arabic numerals, blue steel hands. Small turned brass bowl with knurled screw bezel, Brass crown for mind and set. Brass gimbals and locking mechanism, brass ratchet key bearing the serial number. Three tier mahogany box, inside the middle tier a rectangular plate detailing instructions on how to use the watch and set the hands. The weighted brass screw base engraved “MTD Watch – Bureau of Ship – US Navy – N5709-1942”. The serial number repeated on the bowl and bezel.

A mid 20th Century Swiss two day spring detent marine chronometer in a brass bound mahogany box. Full plate gilt keywind fusee movement, four turned pillars secured by polished steel screws. Fusee and barrel under a separate bridge bearing Nardin’s stamp and serial number. Harrison’s maintaining power, gilt barrel ratchet wheel and click. Gilt cock with diamond endstone, polished steel micrometer regulator. Compensation balance, the two arms placed centrally in the rims, four circular weights and two timing nuts. Blue steel overcoil hairspring. Earnshaw spring detent escapement, escape wheel under a separate bridge, pivots with endstones. Signed and numbered silvered brass dial, subsidiaries for seconds and power reserve indication, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Turned brass bowl, sprung rotating shutter to the winding hole, screw brass bezel with flat glass. Brass gimbals and locking mechanism. Three tier brass bound mahogany box, folding brass handles, rectangular signed plate above circular numbered disc.

Bezel Wound Marine Chronometer
An unusual mid 20th Century bezel wound Swiss lever two day marine chronometer in a brass bound mahogany box. Spotted gilt three quarter plate keyless movement with large going barrel. Unusual construction with a substantial steel winding wheel attached to the centre of the bowl housing the movement. This bowl is free to rotate around the movement aided by five sprung ball bearings at its edge. Subsidiary platform for the escapement, plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement, escape and lever pivots with endstones. Signed silvered brass dial, subsidiaries for seconds and power reserve indication. Large Arabic numerals for the hours one to twelve and small numerals in the minute ring for thirteen to twenty four, blue steel hands. Plain brass bezel which is turned to wind the clock. This bezel is raised and turned to adjust the hands. Brass gimbals and locking mechanism. Two tier brass bound mahogany box with shallow top lid.
