Description

A fine 19th Century English keyless fusee chronometer with power reserve indication by Frodsham in a gold full hunter case.  Gilt half plate keyless movement with fusee and chain. Harrison's maintaining power.  Plain cock with diamond endstone. Compensation balance employing quarter timing nuts, freesprung helical blue steel hairspring. Screwed in jewelling, escape and pivots with endstones.  Earnshaw type spring detent escapement.   Signed and numbered white enamel dial with subsidiaries for continuous seconds and power reserve.  Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Substantial plain 18 carat, maker's mark “GAP” in an oval and number corresponding to that on the movement.  Gold cuvette with apertures to allow for winding and set with a key should the user prefer.  Accompanied by Frodsham certificate.
