Hermes release a design for their contribution to The Only Watch auction

The Only Watch auction unites the world’s finest manufacturers to create 44 unique designs to raise money for charity. These items are limited edition and exclusively designed for the event.

The watches will be sold to raise money for research on Duchenne muscular dystrophy at The Only Watch auction on 7th November 2015 in Geneva. This auction has run every two years since 2005 and has attracted the attention of hundreds of collectors and connoisseurs keeping an eye out for their favourite pieces in a bid to add them to their treasured collections.

Watchmakers that will display their work in November include Pegasus, Jacob & Co, Maurice La Croix and Louis Vuitton, displaying an incredible display of designing talent from each and every individual item. Not only will this event be an awe inspiring array, the money donated to charity will make a massive impact, providing creative support for scientific research for a life changing cause.

One brand in particular that has already released their design plans is Hermes. Following the 2012 release of a pocket watch that can be worn on the wrist, the French company has created a unique design, pulling inspiration from the porte-oignon given to Jacqueline Hermes by her father 10 years previously. Their design ‘In the pocket’ features include a black dial face encased in stunning rose gold, and an accompanied separate case, made from Swift calfskin in Hermes signature red/brown tone that transforms the pocket watch into a wrist watch. The design oozes simplicity and elegance, certainly creating a unique look unseen before.

Pieces of Time also offer a large variety of vintage antique pocket watches with some completely unique pieces available.
