Later shield shaped silver fob with vacant gold centre. The back engraved with details of a Euphonium competition in 1929, hallmarked Birmingham 1928.

Silver Pair Cased Oddfellows Dial Verge

A mid 19^th Century English verge with polychrome enamel dial of the Oddfellows Society in silver pair cases. Full plate fusee movement with round pillars. Pierced and engraved round cock, polished steel regulator on top plate below the plain three arm steel balance. White enamel dial, polychrome enamel and gilt centre painted with two women and Oddfellows symbols, the all seeing eye above and below the motto “Amicita Amor et Veritas”. Around the scene “Independent Order of Odd Fellows Manchester Unity”. Roman numerals, gilt hands. Silver pair cases, plain silver inner with silver oval pendant and bow, maker's mark “JH” in an oval. Plain silver outer case with faded mark.

A mid 19^th Century Swiss cylinder in a gold and enamel open face case. Keywind gilt Lepine calibre movement with suspended going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator . Plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel. Silver dial with decoratively engraved centre, Roman numerals, gold hands. Engraved gold open face case, the back with a well painted polychrome enamel scene of a lady and a cupid in a chapel. Wound and set through the engine turned gold cuvette.

A mid 19^th Century continental gilt metal chatelaine. The oval body set with turquoise and garnets supporting two chains. From one hangs a small oval glass scent bottle with screw cap and the other a gilt mounted amethyst seal engraved “Gang Warily”.

Rare Tic-Tac Escapement Alarm

A very rare mid 19^th Century tic-tac escapement alarm in a nickle drum case. Unusual full plate brass movement with a single barrel powering both the alarm and going trains. Plain cock with blue steel coqueret, plain three arm steel balance with blue steel spiral hairspring set in a circular aperture in the plate. Very rare tic-tac escapement where the English lever escape wheel acts directly on a polished steel roller on the balance staff. The tooth of the escape wheel rests on the roller for most of the vibration, giving impulse only in one direction as a slot in it passes. Single hammer for the alarm striking on the side of the case which acts as a rudimentary bell. Silvered dial with black waxed Roman numerals. Central alarm disk with waxed pointer, thumb piece at the back for adjustment. Single blue steel hand for the hours only. Nickle drum case with fixed glass. Outer morocco slip travelling case, the top apparently lost.

A very rare form of escapement. It is surprising to find it used in a travelling alarm

A 19^th Century Rosewood box watch stand. Rectangular box decorated with bone corners, strap and escutcheon, the corners cross banded with rounded mahogany. Inside a hinged holder for the watch similarly decorated and lined with purple velvet, folding brass stay hinges and lock.

A rare mid 19^th Century enamelled duplex for the Chinese market in a plain silver case. Keywind movement with gilt champleve blue enamel cock and bridges. The suspended going barrel decorated with red champleve enamel. Gilt engine turned plate. Garnet endstone in a gold engraved setting, polished steel regulator. Blue steel screws. Polished and blue steel three arm balance, decorative gilt weights, spiral hairspring. Steel crab tooth duplex escape wheel allowing the hand to appear to beat seconds. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, centre seconds, blue steel hands. Plain silver open face case, silver oval pendant and bow, button to release the back cover which is marked in Chinese characters within a oval. Glazed engraved silver sprung cuvette with apertures for winding and hand set.

A rare mid 19^th Century Irish fusee lever in a gold and enamel full hunter case decorated with shamrocks. Gilt three quarter plate keywind movement with fusee and chain, Harrison’s maintaining power. Engraved cock with polished steel regulator, plain three arm gold balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. English table roller lever escapement. Decorative engine turned and engraved gold dial with subsidiary seconds, applied gold Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Substantial 18 carat full hunter case with ribbed middle. Both covers engraved and decorated with two rows of shamrocks in translucent green enamel. On the front cover the shield shaped cartouche engraved with a heraldic device. The back cover centered by a harp in blue and red and enamel. Maker’s mark "JD" and number corresponding to that on the movement.

A mid 19^th Century Swiss lever in a gold half hunter case bearing the coat of arms of Emperor Maximilian I of Mexico. Keyless nickelled bar movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator. Uncut bimetallic balance with spiral hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, slender Roman numerals, blue steel half hunter hands. Unusual engine turned 18 carat half hunter case. An applied unglazed chased and engraved gold chapter ring on the front cover bears the name "E Maximiliano" in place of the numerals. The back cover with an applied shield shaped gold cartouche chased and engraved with intertwined characters "MIM". Above the characters a crown. Gold cuvette with applied pierced and engraved coat of arms of Maximilian as Emperor.
