Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup on the plate with small silver index. Pierced and engraved cock, small steel balance without spring. Later four wheel going train. Small teardrop shaped silver dial, centre engraved with a cathedral and below a winged heart. Roman numerals, small single gilt hand. Engraved gilt crucifix shaped mask with curved ends. Fine rock crystal case, both halves mounted in engraved gilt frames.

Early Silver Champleve Dial Verge by Halsted
A 17th Century English calendar verge with silver champleve dial by Robert Halsted in silver pair cases. Deep full plate fire gilt movement with broad elaborate pierced and engraved pillars. Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Hollow fusee winding square on the tapered shaft of the great wheel. Pierced and engraved cock depicting two birds on the table, very small vestigial wings, pierced and engraved foot with irregular edge. Plain steel balance, pierced and engraved plate with arrow indication to the silver regulator disc. Signed silver champleve dial, small circular aperture at six for the gilt date ring. Chased and engraved centre depicting drums, flags and weapons, Roman and Arabic numerals, fine blue steel tulip and poker hands. Plain silver pair cases, silver pendant and ring bow, split bezel for the glass. The outer with five joint square hinge, early trapped button to the case latch spring.

Display of Dial Cartouches
An unusual glazed display with burr walnut veneered frame of numeral cartouches from early 18th Century watches and clocks. Concentric circles of the white enamel cartouches taken from gilt dials are displayed in the square frame, a dial from a calendar watch taking the place of one cartouche. At the centre a blue and white enamel disc for the age of the moon, two larger versions above and below. Approximately 70 pieces in total.

Rare Gold and Bloodstone Chatelaine Watch
A mid 18th Century English verge in a fine 22 carat gold mounted bloodstone consular case and matching chatelaine. Full plate fire gilt movement with square baluster pillars. Pierced and engraved masked cock, pierced and engraved foot and plate for the silver regulator disc. Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Plain three arm gilt balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Wound through the white enamel dial, Roman and Arabic numerals, blue steel beetle and poker hands. Polished bloodstone consular case with gold mounts. A single piece of bloodstone forms the back of the case secured to the hinged gold bezels by a gold repousse frame chased and engraved with a representation of a cherub and doves. The front bezel set with four separate pieces of bloodstone. Gold pendant and bow. Fine matching chatelaine, the gilt clip faced with a thin piece of bloodstone secured under a gold repousse frame. Similarly decorated cartouche attached to the clip by a hinge. Five matching chains are supported by the clip of alternating cast links and gold rings. The watch hangs from the centre chain on a small hinged gold clip with threaded safety collar. The outer chains both have egg shaped accessories of differing design. The smaller of these is constructed in a similar fashion to the watch with two bloodstone shells mounted on a hinged gold middle. The other is formed from fine gold filigree work joined by a screw thread and has a gilt lining painted black. The two inner chains have five well carved pieces of coral in the form of a hand, a shoe, a dog, a fish and head of a jester. Two other small black carvings, possibly jet, are in the form of a shoe and a jug. Additionally, and most unusually, the gold watch key is attached to the top of the chatelaine by a hinge and swivel hinged gilt clip with threaded safety collar. Recent red velvet lined black morocco fitted display box.

Contemporary white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, gold beetle and poker hands. Purpose made plain 22 carat gold inner case, gold pendant, the top with applied gold repousse decoration, hallmarked London 1766, maker’s mark “R.P” in a rectangle. Purpose made 22 carat gold outer case, Greek key decoration to the bezels, the back with foliate engraving. Hallmarked London 1769, maker’s mark “HT”.

Front bezel and back with an applied gold geometric border. In the centre of the back applied three colour gold decoration of a couple in a garden. Attractive matching gunmetal steel chatelaine, the pierced buckle and oval cartouches decorated in a similar manner to the watch.

A rare 18th Century skeletonised quarter repeating Swiss verge with glass dial in a stone set consular case. Full plate fusee movement with three round pillars. The plate and barrel cover pierced and engraved to reveal the trains and blue steel mainspring. Engraved cock, polished steel coqueret set with a garnet, small circular blue steel regulator geared to a plate carrying the index pins. Plain three arm steel balance. Push pendant a toc quarter repeating on two blocks in the case. Winding through the rare glass dial which reveals the polished steel quarter repeating work below. Underpainted white Arabic numerals, decorative gold hands. Double sided two colour gold consular case, the bezels set with a row of white stones.

Three Colour Gold Chatelaine Watch
A mid 18th Century French verge in a three colour gold consular case and matching chatelaine. Full plate gilt fusee movement. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator. Winding through the white enamel dial, Roman and Arabic numerals, decorative pierced gold hands. Three colour gold consular case, the back depicting scene of a sheep, basket and agricultural implements within an oval surrounded by a line engraved ground with swags. Matching three colour gold chatelaine, plain gold clip folded over to form the large three colour gold cartouche. This similarly decorated to the watch with an oval scene depicting a dog and cornucopia in a formal garden. From this hangs three further smaller cartouches each with a slightly different scene within an oval border.

Enamel Patch Box in the Form of A Watch
A rare mid 18th Century Bilston patch box in the form of a watch. The box a realistic representation of a watch of the period. The dial formed as part of the case, Roman and Arabic numerals, good gilt beetle and poker hands under a fixed glass. Polychrome floral decoration to the front bezel. The centre of the back flat, polychrome enamel scene of two gentlemen in an Italian garden. The scene oddly painted at right angles to normal. Gilt bezels hinged to allow the box to open, gilt pendant and stirrup bow. Plain white interior, wax covering the arbor for the hands impressed with a seal.
