An 18th Century French verge in an unusual gold mounted glass consular case. Full plate gilt fusee movement. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator. Winding through the fully restored white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, pierced gilt hands. Unusual gold consular case mounted with ruby glass to the bezels and amber glass to the back. The glass retained by pierced and engraved repousse frames with translucent green enamel. In the centre of the back a repousse depiction of Leda and the Swan.
