A late 19th Century English lever quarter repeating clockwatch in an engraved gold case. Gilt three quarter plate keywind movement with going barrel. Engraved cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. English table roller lever escapement. Large number of screwed in jewels to both striking and going trains, escape and lever pivots with endstones. Slide quarter repeating on two polished steel gongs. Fine signed silver dial with subsidiary seconds. decorative applied gold decoration to the centre and edge, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Substantial 18 carat gold full hunter case, chased and engrave bezels and middle,

The covers profusely engraved with foliate decoration, vacant shield shaped cartouche. two polished steel levers under the front cover, one marked “Hours Silent  Hours Strike” , the other “Strike – Silent”. Small lever by the pendant which releases the striking train to repeat the hours and quarters. Wound and set through the richly decorated gold cuvette, maker’s mark “AS” in an oval. number corresponding to that on the movement. Black morocco presentation case with embossed design on the lid.

A rare watch in excellent condition which could still be worn today.
