Description

A 19th Century Swiss fusee chronometer in a gold full hunter case.  Gilt three quarter plate keywind movement with fusee and chain.  Harrison’s maintaining power.  Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel helical  hairspring. Pivoted detent chronometer escapement, screwed in jewelling.  Engine turned and engraved silver dial with applied gold Roman numerals and two colour gold decoration to the centre and edge.  Subsidiary seconds, blue steel hands.  Engine turned 18 carat full hunter case, shield shaped cartouche on the front cover lightly scratched with characters. Wound and set through the gold cuvette engraved “Chronometer”.  Maker’s mark “LP&F” in a rectangle and number corresponding to that on the movement.
