Description

An early 20th Century English lever by Dent in an attractive gold half hunter case.  Gilt three quarter plate keyless movement with going barrel. Engraved cock with polished steel regulator, diamond endstone. Compensation balance with blue steel double overcoil hairspring.  English table roller lever escapement, screwed in jewelling, escape and lever pivots with endstones.  Signed and numbered white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, radially set Arabic numerals, blue steel hands. Substantial drum shaped plain 18 carat gold half hunter case.  Large glazed aperture, broad chapter ring of translucent dark blue enamel over an engine turned ground, white Arabic numerals and minute markings.  Clip on back, maker’s mark “RN” in a rectangle, gold bow and gilt winding button.

A very usable attractive English watch.  Interestingly Dent has chosen to note the firm are makers to the King and Queen in the year of Queen Victoria's death.
