Description

An early 19th Century English cylinder with two colour gold dial in an engine turned gold case.  Full plate gilt keywind fusee movement fixed in the case by three blue steel dog screws.  Engraved cock with large garnet endstone visible through the pierced cuvette.  Plain three arm polished steel balance with blue steel spiral hairspring, silver regulator on the engraved gilt plate.   Polished steel cylinder, large brass escape wheel. Fine gold dial, matted ground with applied gold decoration to the centre. Applied gold Arabic numerals, fine serpentine blue steel hands.  Engine turned 18 carat open face case with ribbed middle.  Wound through the signed and numbered gilt cuvette pierced to reveal the table of the cock.  Maker’s mark “LC”.
