Description

A late 18th Century French quarter repeating verge by Leroy in a diamond and ruby set gold and enamel consular case.  Full plate gilt fusee movement.  Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring.  Silver regulator dial.  Push pendant quarter repeating, two polished steel hammers striking on a bell in the case. Winding through the signed white enamel dial, Roman hour numerals separated by small white stones.  Arabic numerals for the minutes, blue steel hands.  Gold consular case, gold push pendant, the front bezel set with a row of alternating diamonds and rubies.  Polychrome oval enamel portrait of a young lady in a blue dress and a garland of flowers.  Border of a continuous row of diamonds.  Pierced white metal mask set with diamonds and rubies over a polychrome enamel ground.
