A late 18th Century French verge in a diamond set gold and enamel consular case. Full plate gilt fusee movement. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator. Winding through the fully restored white enamel dial, Arabic numerals, gilt hands. Unusual consular case, the bezel set with a row of diamonds. The back covered in translucent dark blue enamel over an engine turned ground. This is overlaid with a decorative diamond set gold mask.
A late 18th Century French quarter repeating cylinder in a diamond set gold and enamel consular case. Full plate gilt fusee movement. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator. Round pillars. Push pendant a toc quarter repeating on two blocks set in the case. Polished steel cylinder, large brass escape wheel. Winding through the white enamel dial, black Arabic numerals and red numerals at the quarters, gold beetle and poker hands. Three colour gold consular case with fully restored circular polychrome enamel portrait of a young lady on the back. Surrounding the portrait a band of applied gold work set with diamonds and green enamel. Sprung front bezel opened by pressing a pin recessed in the edge, rare concealed hinge. Gold push pendant and bow.
A rare late 18th Century verge automaton depicting the battle of Arcola in a silver pair cases. Full plate gilt fusee movement. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with endstone in a polished steel setting, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with gilt indicator. White enamel dial, small subsidiary of Arabic numerals, blue steel hands. The lower half of the dial in polychrome enamel depicting the battle of Arcola. Napoleon on the left bearing a flag, riding a black horse onto the bridge followed by his troops. On the right Croatian and Austrian forces firing cannon. In the centre of the bridge a semi-circular opening reveals a rotating disc painted with cavalry riders appearing to charge across the bridge as the watch runs. Above the scene the text “Bataille bei Arcola gewonnen von Bonaparte – d16ten Novbr 1795”. Matching silver pair cases, silver pendant and bow, the inner only bearing faded hallmarks.
