Description

An early 19th Century quarter repeating verge automaton in a gilt open face case.  Full plate gilt fusee movement.  Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock, polished steel coqueret.  Plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with gilt indicator. Push pendant quarter repeating on two steel gongs.  Dark translucent blue enamel dial with small white enamel chapter of Arabic numerals, gilt steel hands.  Either side of the chapter are chased and engraved parcel gilt classical figures.  As the watch strikes the hours and quarters the arms of the figures move as though striking the bells between them.  Plain gilt open face case with ribbed middle, gilt push pendant.  Wound through the signed gilt metal cuvette.
