Description

An unusual 19^th Century oval rock crystal, gold and enamel pendant watch in 17th Century German style.  Small circular keywind gilt bar movement with going barrel. Plain cock with polished steel regulator. Plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel.  Drum shaped engraved silver cover with apertures for wind and hand set.  Signed engraved silver oval dial, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Small oval case, the body carved from rock crystal with faceted exterior.  Gold cover over the dial with two colour gold decoration and small diamonds set at the edges.  In the centre a polychrome enamel oval scene of a lady seated in a garden.  Gold pendant set with rubies on a pierced gold and enamel support.  The similar finial at the base serves to secure the movement and cover.
