Plain cock with polished steel regulator, uncut bimetallic balance with overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Push button quarter repeating on two polished steel gongs. White enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Arabic numerals, blue steel hands. Plain gunmetal open face case with gilt repeating button, hand set, hinge, thumb piece, winding button and bow.

English Gold Full Hunter Minute Repeater
A fine late 19th Century English minute repeater in substantial gold full hunter case. Gilt half plate keyless movement, raised section of the plate for the going barrel engraved with the firms motto below a crown. Plain cock with polished steel micrometer regulator, diamond endstone. Compensation balance employing quarter timing nuts, blue steel overcoil hairspring. English double roller lever escapement, screwed in jewelling, escape and lever pivots with endstones. Slide minute repeating on two polished steel gongs. Signed and numbered white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Very substantial plain 18 carat full hunter case, recessed gold slide, gold bow. Five joint hinges, double flysprings to the front cover. Maker’s mark “FT” in an oval. Signed red morocco covered presentation case lined in purple velvet.

Large Musical Silver Hunter
A late 19th Century Swiss musical watch in a large silver full hunter case. Keyless nickelled musical movement with very large going barrel playing at will or on the hour. Nickelled pinned barrel with polished steel comb of 30 graduated tignes. Under this a circular gilt keyless cylinder watch movement offset towards the pendant. Puce enamel dial decorate with musical instruments, offset white chapter with Roman numerals, gilt hands. Substantial large silver full hunter case, glazed clip on cuvette to reveal the mechanism, lateral silver slide in the band to play the music. Both the musical and watch movements are wound by the crown. When the pin above the crown is depressed the watch is wound, when not, the music is wound.

Silver and Enamel Singing Bird Box
A late 19th Century Swiss automated singing bird in a silver and enamel box. Brass going barrel movement keywound through the base. Small bellows and piston mechanism provides air to a variable whistle to mimic birdsong operated by a system of cams and levers. The bird covered with multi-coloured feathered plumage, iridescent highlights to bib and wings. Moving the pull at the side of the box causes the oval lid to open and the bird to hinge into an upright position, rising through chased and pierced gilt grille. While playing the automated bird moves its bone beak, flaps its wings, bobs its tail feather and moves from side-to-side, synchronised to the continuous birdsong. Unusual silver box enamelled on all faces apart from the base. The four sides with polychrome enamel landscapes and central oval cartouches depicting cherubs. The top with polychrome enamel depicting goddesses and cherubs at the four corners. Gilt frame to the polychrome enamel oval lid with two cherubs and doves. Key wound through the plain base, key in the shape of a bird.

Enamelled Singing Bird Box and Watch
A 20th Century Swiss enamelled singing bird box with silvered mounts and fitted oval watch. Small lever watch movement mounted in the front of the box. Wound and set by a crown under the box, silvered oval dial with gilt centre, blue steel hands. Singing bird mechanism with going barrel wound by key below the box. Small bellows mechanism providing air to a variable whistle operated by a system of cams and levers. The rod at the side of the box is pulled to start the bird singing. The oval lid rises and a bird appears, turning from side to side, flapping its wings and moving its beak. When the song is finished the bird falls backwards and the lid closes. Rectangular box standing on four small ball feet. The faces of translucent red enamel over an engine turned ground framed by engraved silvered mounts. The repousse scene on the oval door is of a couple embracing on a bench surrounded by birds.

Plain cock with polished steel regulator, uncut bimetallic balance with spiral hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. Push button minute repeating on two polished steel gongs, small rotating visible regulator. Signed white enamel dial marked “Minutes”, subsidiary seconds, Arabic numerals, blue steel hands. Large plain gold wristwatch case with glazed back revealing the movement. Rectangular gold lugs attached to short oval pendants both with winding crowns. The crown at six o’clock fixed, present only for visual balance. Gilt push button at three o’clock to actuate the minute repeat. Black grained leather strap.

Arched bone dial painted with a rural scene, a Chinese lightweight sedan chair in the foreground. Arabic numerals, diamond set gilt hands. Rare geometric Art Deco silver gilt case decorated in blue, green and black enamel. Hump back top with agate push button for the minute repeat. Hinged signed silver back, gilt interior. Green malachite base. Original tooled tan leather travelling case, two hinged doors. Lined in cream silk the arched recess with a compartment for the key behind a folding partition.
