Plain steel balance, silver regulator disc. Signed gold champleve dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, blue steel beetle and poker hands. Matching 22 carat gold pair cases, gold pendant and bow, maker's mark “WS”. Both cases numbered 5045, the inner with an extra winding aperture.
An attractive watch by Graham with an interesting history. The movement, number 5074 was presented to the Clockmakers Company by Sir John Thorold Bt. In 1818. It was sold by the Company at Sotheby's in 1981. The new owner then bought the original cases and dial of Graham watch number 5045 and fitted movement 5074 to them. A fine rare early 18th Century English champleve dial verge with glazed sides and cock in gold pair cases. Deep full plate fire gilt movement the glazed sides retained by a silver ring. The ring is pierced and engraved with architectural pillars and the number of the watch over the barrel. Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Pierced and engraved cock with mask, the table glazed, a blue stone at its centre in a silver setting. Pierced and engraved foot and plate for the blued regulator disc with gilt markings. Plain gilt balance. Signed gold champleve dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, blue steel beetle and poker hands. Matching plain 22 carat gold pair cases, gold pendant and stirrup bow. Maker's mark “SG” and number corresponding to that on the movement.

Fine white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, blue steel beetle and poker hands. Plain gold inner case, gold pendant and stirrup bow, number corresponding to that on the movement. Gold outer case, the back set with a cabochon cornelian stone.
In excellent overall condition. Close inspection shows that the dial is that originally fitted rather than a replacement for a champleve one. It is a fine early example. Rare Early Verge Pocket Watch with Garden of Eden Automation
A fine and rare 18th Century English verge with automated scene in a gold consular case. Deep full plate fire gilt movement with gilt dust ring. Turned baluster pillars, fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. The winged cock and regulator plate left plain, being neither pierced or engraved. Plain gilt balance. A central stalk supports the scene and carries a wheel which is driven by another mounted on the contrate wheel arbor. Fine white enamel dial with apertures for winding and regulation of the watch. Roman and Arabic numerals, blue steel beetle and poker hands. Plain gold consular case, maker’s mark “IB”. A glazed aperture on the back reveals a gold chased and engraved repousse scene depicting Eve offering Adam the apple in the Garden of Eden. A snake circles the scene as the watch runs, its support hidden under the pierced and engraved border of the dust cover.
A rare watch in excellent overall condition. Surprisingly the specially designed movement is not signed and the maker has not decorated the cock as it remains concealed under the dust ring which is secured by two screwsCirca 1730£16,500.00 Read more -

Fusee and chain with worm and wheel barrel setup between the plates. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Push pendant quarter repeating on a bell in the case. Signed silver champleve dial in and engraved gilt edge, Roman and Arabic numerals, blue steel beetle and poker hands. Fine silver pair cases, the inner pierced and engraved, a large grotesque mask at six o'clock. Long silver push pendant and stirrup bow. Repousse silver outer case, also pierced and engraved, four cartouches around the edge of the back, two with busts and the others with baskets of fruit.
