A 19^th Century English verge in silver half hunter pair cases. Full plate fire gilt fusee movement with round pillars. Pierced and engraved masked cock, engraved gilt plate, blue steel disc for regulation, with the index on the top plate. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Half hunter style white enamel dial with two concentric chapters of Roman numerals, only the inner chapter visible unless the front cover is opened. Gold half hunter hands. Matching silver pair cases, the inner with a broad border to the front bezel, small glazed aperture at the centre. Silver oval pendant and bow, maker’s mark “V.R” in an oval.

Chased and engraved cock with diamond endstone, a representation of an eagle on the table, marked “Detached” on the foot. Plain three arm steel balance with blue steel spiral hairspring, blue steel Bosley regulator. Massey type five lever escapement, large screwed in jewelling. Off white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Purpose made silver open face case hallmarked London 1865. Faded engine turned back, ribbed middle, the inner dome engraved “James Dick – 1867”. Lateral blue steel stop lever, maker’s mark “R.O” and number corresponding to that on the movement.

Plain cock with polished steel regulator, diamond endstone. Compensation balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Duplex escapement, brass escape wheel, pivots with endstones. Quarter repeating on two polished steel gongs operated by a pull and twist plunger in the band. Engine turned gold dial with subsidiary seconds, faded Roman numerals, blue steel hands. Engine turned 18 carat open face case, pull and twist repeat plunger in the band at three o’clock, with ribbed middle. Signed and numbered clip on gold cuvette locked by a screw (now lacking), maker’s mark “CAP” in an oval.
