Unusual back set with white stones and decorated in red and gilt enamel on a black ground. At the base a stylised sun below the gilt decorated red enamel arc. Above this a crescent moon set with white stones.

Pierced and engraved masked cock, diamond endstone in a polished steel setting, silver regulator disc. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Lateral steel stop lever acting on the contrate wheel. White enamel dial with centre seconds, small chapter offset at twelve for the hours and minutes. Roman and Arabic numerals, blue steel sweep seconds hand, gilt hands. Plain 22 carat gold pair cases. The inner with unusual hallmarks, maker’s mark “HLP” in a rectangle and date letter “Y” in a large oval. Contemporary 22 carat gold outer case with Dublin hallmarks, maker’s mark “AN”.

A late 18th Century quarter repeating Swiss virgule in a diamond and pearl set gold and enamel consular case with matching chatelaine. Full plate gilt fusee movement. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with garnet endstone, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with blue steel indicator. Rare virgule escapement, large brass escape wheel. Push pendant dumb quarter repeating on two blocks in the case. Winding through the unusual white enamel dial with Roman numerals at the quarters, Arabic numerals between them. Decorative pierced gold hands. Fine gold consular case, translucent dark blue enamel over an engine turned ground. The bezel and back both set with a single row of large split pearls. Applied white metal decoration on the back set with diamonds. Gold push pendant and bow. Fine matching chatelaine, the gilt clip faced with gold and champleve enamel, an oval in the centre between two split pearls One side supports the watch on two short chains, alternating square links decorated on both sides in gold and translucent dark blue enamel bordered in white. These terminate in a spring clip with threaded safety collar. The centre with a gold and enamel bell with tassels of graduated pearls supported by a row of pearls. The other side of the clip matching chain with two gold and enamel pearl set rectangular cartouches each set with a central split pearl. The lower cartouche bordered by a row of split pearls supports the accessories three further matching chains. The central chain with a matching gold and enamel oval key. The outer chains with slightly small versions of the tassel at the centre of the clip. Fitted in an unusually shaped red morocco covered case.

Exceptionally Rare Virgule Chatelaine Watch
An exceptionally rare late 18th Century Swiss centre seconds virgule with wolf’s teeth train wheels in a gold and enamel case and matching chatelaine. Unusual calibre keywind gilt movement, suspended going barrel with blue and polished steel stopwork. Plain gilt cocks for the balance and escape wheel with polished steel coquerets. Plain three arm gilt balance mounted below the gold virgule escape wheel, blue steel spiral hairspring. The polished steel regulator situated below the balance fitted with a blue steel screw to adjust but no index provided. The barrel, all train wheels and pinions with wolf’s teeth profile. Fine signed white enamel dial with centre seconds, Arabic numerals, decorative pierced gold hands. Fine gold and enamel case, the sprung back opened by depressing a button in the gold pendant. Signed and numbered gilt cuvette, small steel lever at the edge to stop the balance. The bezels in translucent blue and white enamel with gilt decoration. The back bordered with a repeat of the pattern, a large polychrome coat of arms on translucent dark blue enamel over an engine turned ground. Long matching macaroni gold and enamel chatelaine, the cartouches joined by four gold chains. The two inner chains of translucent dark blue enamel with gilt decoration on both faces. Gold rectangular cartouche of translucent dark blue enamel on both faces with a border matching that on the bezels of the watch. Large gold octagonal cartouche similarly decorated, on one side the coat of arms is repeated and the other the family crest. Three further short chains, the centre chain with a matching gold and enamel key a geometric pattern on one side and family crest on the other.

Pierced and engraved masked cock with large diamond endstone in a blue steel setting, silver regulator disc. Plain three arm steel balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder with original banking pin, unusually large brass escape wheel. White enamel dial with centre seconds, Roman numerals and fine seconds track at the edge. Gold hands, the seconds situated between the minute and hour hands. Plain gilt metal consular case both back and front bezel opening on the same hinge, dust proof shuts. Inner dome cut away to reveal the dust cover, maker’s mark “GMR”

Rare Gold Calendar Fob
A rare gold 18th Century fob showing day and date in the form of a small pocket watch. White enamel dial with black Arabic numerals for the day of the month and red abbreviation in French for the day of the week. Decorative gold beetle hands. Gold case in the form of a pocket watch, engraved and engine turned back, gold push pendant. Depressing the pendant moves both hands forward one division. A small button in the band locks the day of the week hand allowing the date to be advanced alone for shorter months.

Rare Napoleonic Automaton Verge
A rare late 18th Century verge automaton depicting the battle of Arcola in a silver pair cases. Full plate gilt fusee movement. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with endstone in a polished steel setting, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Silver regulator dial with gilt indicator. White enamel dial, small subsidiary of Arabic numerals, blue steel hands. The lower half of the dial in polychrome enamel depicting the battle of Arcola. Napoleon on the left bearing a flag, riding a black horse onto the bridge followed by his troops. On the right Croatian and Austrian forces firing cannon. In the centre of the bridge a semi-circular opening reveals a rotating disc painted with cavalry riders appearing to charge across the bridge as the watch runs. Above the scene the text “Bataille bei Arcola gewonnen von Bonaparte – d16ten Novbr 1795”. Matching silver pair cases, silver pendant and bow, the inner only bearing faded hallmarks.

Silver pair cases, plain inner with maker’s mark “TC” in a rectangle. Contemporary silver outer case of excellent fit with an engraved monogram. Lateral steel stop lever acting in the contrate wheel.

A large late 18th Century verge with automated scene in silver pair cases. Full plate gilt fusee movement. Finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with large blue cabochon endstone in a gilt and polished steel setting. Plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring, elaborate polished steel regulator marked “Advance – Retard”. Pentagonal baluster pillars. White enamel dial, the offset chapter of Roman numerals with Arabic numerals at the quarters. Fine decorative gilt hands. Around the chapter a polychrome enamel scene depicting a forest scene of a stag being chased. An oval aperture in the lower half of the scene reveals disc with figures of stags, hunters and dogs painted on it. As the watch runs the figures pass across the oval representing a hunt. Large plain silver pair cases, long silver pendant and bow.

An unusual late 18th Century Swiss skeletonised quarter repeating cylinder in a silver open face case. Slim keywind skeletonised gilt movement with blue steel bridges with polished steel oil sinks visible through the dial. Gold crossed out wheels for both going and repeat trains. Gilt suspended going barrel pierced and engraved on the dial side to reveal the blue steel spring. The blue steel spring for the repeating also visible under a blue steel bridge. Crossed out gold motion work. Polished steel bridge cock, polished steel regulator below the plain three arm gold balance, blue steel spiral hairspring. Polished steel cylinder, steel escape wheel. Push pendant quarter repeating, visible polished steel repeating work above the plate. Two polished steel hammers visible from the front striking two steel gongs under the dial. White enamel ring dial, glazed centre in a gold bezel, Arabic numerals, blue steel Breguet hands. Engine turned silver open face case, wound and set through the sprung glazed cuvette with gilt metal bezel.
