Keywind gilt bar movement with two suspended going barrels under separate bridges, the larger for the going train. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel arms and spiral hairspring. Club foot right angle lever escapement. Fully restored white enamel dial with independent jump centre seconds, Roman numerals, blue steel seconds hand, pierced gilt hands. Engine turned 18 carat open face case with coin edge middle. Chased and engraved bezels, pendant and bow, engine turned back with engraved floral decoration. Wound and set through the engine turned gold cuvette inscribed with details of the watch, small gold slide in the band to control the independent centre seconds.

An unusual late 19th Century Swiss lever with double sided moonphase calendar in a gold full hunter case. High quality nickelled three quarter plate keyless movement. Going barrel with polished steel Geneva stop work visible under a bridge. Calendar transfer wheel above the plate. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, compensation balance with blue steel overcoil hairspring. Club foot lever escapement, escape and lever pivots with endstones. Off white enamel dial with gilt minute markings, subsidiary seconds combined with the moonphase, Roman numerals, blue steel seconds hand, pierced gilt hands. The calendar under the back cover which is opened by depressing the crown with the bow folded down. Off white enamel dial with gilt and silver decoration, large date chapter and subsidiaries for day and month in French. The month instantaneously changes as the date moves to 1 by a flirt released by a cam. The calendar plate and glazed gold bezel hinged to the case, the plate cut away to mesh with the movement. Engine turned 14 carat rose gold full hunter case. Both covers opened by depressing the crown, the position of the bow governing which is released.

A fine example of a mid 18th Century repousse watch showing almost no sign of wear. Thomas Baskerville was free of the Clockmakers Company 1738 - 1752. The scene of Rinaldo and Armida is taken from a painting by Louis Silvestre now in Cliche Bibliotheque Nationale de France. A watch by Quare and Horseman, circa 1725, now in the British Museum, bears the same scene. This has the signature of Ishmael Parbury who died September 1746. Nicholas Chateau took an engraving of the painting of Rinaldo and Armida in 1708. Prints after Silvestre were included in a sale after Parbury's death.

White enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, blue steel beetle and poker hands. 22 carat gold pair cases, the inner with maker's mark "IW", decorative gold pendant and bow, circular shutter to the winding aperture. Very fine and rare gold repousse outer case depicting several figures surrounding an ox, apparently being presented to a queen. Three of the principal figures are partly formed from separate applied sections of freestanding chased and engraved gold giving great depth to the scene. Protective third case of gilt metal covered in shagreen with a glazed back.

This is one of the finest and most skilfully executed repousse cases we have seen. The freestanding sections are subtly integrated into the main body of the case, the joins being difficult to discern. The fine detail of the engraving has been preserved by the protective glazed outer and shows no signs of wear.

A fine late 19th Century Swiss lever ball watch and matching chain. Unusual gilt movement constructed with the train wheels above the going barrel. Plain sector cock with polished steel regulator. Compensation balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Club foot lever escapement. . Small white enamel dial with blue Arabic numerals, the 12 o'clock marking in red, gilt minute markings and hands. The case is constructed in three parts, the yellow gold middle being decorated with a single band of white enamel dots to imitate split pearls. The two hemispheres of platinum covered in black enamel and set at the edges with rows of diamonds, a further row of diamonds around the bezel. Gold hand set button and ring pendant. The watch is wound and set by turning the top hemisphere of the case in relation to the lower hemisphere. Matching decorative yellow gold and platinum chain set with two pearls.

The movement in an 18 carat cod case with signed clip on back which is concealed within a large gold coin commemorating the formation of the State of Israel. On one side of the coin the head of Theodor Herzel. On the other a tablet of 12 hieroglyphs probably representing the twelve Tribes of Israel and the text "14 Mai 1948". The coin set in a gold wire frame with a broach clip in the form of a bow.

A very rare and unusual small 19th Century Swiss quarter repeating musical clockwatch with double wheel duplex escapement in a gold open face case. Gilt keywind movement with two going barrels. Plain cock with polished steel regulator, plain flat three arm polished steel balance with blue steel spiral hairspring. Rare double wheel duplex escapement, both wheels of polished steel. Disc form of musical mechanism, unusually the pins operate on two sets of tines placed at 180 degrees. One set consists of 8 tines, the other 9. At the hour the music plays for half the travel of the disc which continues to drive the striking train sounding the number of hours. The clockwatch can also be made to strike at will by using the slide on the side of the case. The music again sounds and the watch strikes the quarters on two rectangular section polished steel gongs. If the slide is moved further against greater resistance it winds the striking mainspring, which can also be wound as normal with a key. Gold engine turned dial with Roman numerals in circular cartouches, gold hands. Small engine turned 18 carat open face case with engine turned middle, strike - silent lever under the front bezel. Wound and set through the gilt metal cuvette.

The watch is accompanied by a photocopy of the ledger at the Royal Observatory Greenwich. This records the early history of the watch purchased in May 1915. The earliest entry shows it with a Senior Naval Officer in August 1915 and sold November 1948 after a dozen transfers.

This deck watch has surprisingly managed to retain not only the bezel and flat crystal glass but also it gold bow. The deck box was originally constructed as a three tier type but the top lid is now permanently attached to the middle and the lock replaced.

This records the early history of the watch purchased in June 1916. The earliest entry showing it on HMS Gibralter in July 1916. It was transferred 30 times, at first to the maker and finishing a Dents in November 1936.
