Index No. A9138 Gold Pair Cased Repeating Chronometer
An early 19th Century English half quarter repeating chronometer by Barraud in gold pair cases.  Full plate keywind fusee movement with polished brass plates.  Harrison's maintaining power.  Engraved cock with diamond endstone, Pennington type compensation balance with freesprung helical blue steel hairspring.  Earnshaw spring detent chronometer escapement, the detent unusually in a slot in the plate.  Push pendant quarter repeating on two steel blocks in the case.  Signed and numbered white enamel dial with subsidiary seconds, Roman numerals, fine blue steel hands.  Matching gold pair cases, gold bow and pendant with lock, a slide in the bezel of the outer engaging with it.  Maker's mark "WW".  Original watchpaper by Barraud.
